Born into the Graham family, sold to Symington in 1970, Johnny Graham was not content with making Port - his art and passion - for others. So in 1981, he created his own Port house, Churchill's, named after his wife's last name, Caroline Churchill. A year later, his first Vintage was released, and in the following years, the company expanded to include full Tawny and Ruby ranges. In 1999, the company acquires Quinta da Gricha, a high quality estate that had been in Johnny Graham's sights since the 1970s.
Aged for 30 years in used oak barrels, yet retains Churchill's characteristic freshness. It displays a bright amber color, along with a complex and seductive combination of cigar box aromas, toffee, cedar, and some fresh black fruit notes. The palate is elegant and engaging, combining freshness with aging, featuring notes of dried fruit and orange peel, along with floral and menthol nuances, finishing long and velvety.
